The season initially ran from March 21 through August 19, 2001 on Fuji Television in Japan.[3][4] In Video Research's audience measurements in the KantÅ region, these initial airings received household ratings ranging from 12.5 to 17.2, which earned every episode a place in Video Research's weekly Top 10 ranking of anime shows. One Piece Episode 837 aired today, and in this post, Iâll be discussing everything that happened in todayâs episode of One Piece. Before I begin, I want to let you all know that this post contains spoilers from the Whole Cake Island arc of One Piece. If you arenât caught up yet, I suggest you donât read this post. However, if spoilers donât bother you, letâs begin.
Watch One Piece Episode 837 Preview
Last week, we saw Big Momâs flashback and I think the episode was very well done. The manga was adapted perfectly, and as Iâve been saying for a long time now, One Pieceâs quality has really improved. We saw how Big Mom found Mother Carmel and how she came to the land of Warriors, Elbaf. Linlin was basically abandoned by her parents because she had caused a lot of destruction at the place where she was originally from.
As evil, as she seemed, it wasnât Big Mom who wanted to kill and destroy. It was her disease. Linlin used to get rage fits and during those, she lost control and destroyed everything around her. Mother Carmel saw to it that she was properly raised, but during the fasting, Linlin lost control and ravaged an entire village on her own. In One Piece Episode 837, most of Big Momâs story concluded. I think the most important details that we found out were related to the Soru Soru no Mi. It was originally the Devil Fruit ability of Mother Carmel. Only after Linlin ate everyone (including Carmel) at her 6th Birthday Party did she get its powers. She truly became a monster and just at an age of 6, she could do this much!
We also saw a bit of stuff from Luffy and the others, but it was nothing major. I thought One Piece Episode 837 was great, and I hope the next couple of episodes are the same. One Piece Episode 838 will show us whatâs going to happen to Big Mom at the Wedding, and if sheâll die or not. However, it is the episode after that which has most people hyped up. Expect some great things from the next 2 â 3 episodes of One Piece. As always, you can find stuff related to both the anime and the manga here on Otakukart.

One Piece Episode 837 is just around the corner, so letâs dive into what is going to happen in the upcoming episode. First things first, this post is going to have a lot of spoiler material. For those who are not okay with reading spoilers, I suggest you donât go on. Please stop reading here for your own good. If you donât mind being spoiled, letâs get started. One Piece is currently halfway through Whole Cake Island, and weâre in the middle of Big Momâs flashback right now. In the last episode, we saw how Big Mom was abandoned by her parents and how she eventually came to find Mother Carmel. The orphanage where she lived was very friendly, and Elbaf seemed like a great place for her to live at.

However, during the fasting, she went berserk and destroyed everything near her. This was all because she wanted to eat the Semla. She even went up against the former Giant Pirates Captain and destroyed them in One Punch. In the next episode, weâre going to see the rest of Big Momâs story. She, along with the rest of the children will leave Elbaf at once and the orphanage will be set up someplace else. During Linlinâs 6th birthday, she is given a lot of Semla, and this is where the tragedy kicks in. She enjoys the food so much that she actually eats the table, chairs and even the orphans. Oh, and also Mother Carmel. So thatâs basically how Mother Carmel vanished all of a sudden one day.
Weâll then see Big Mom meeting with Streusen and eventually, they work together to create Whole Cake Island as it stands today. Weâll then head back to the main story and this is where the KX launcher will be finally launched at Big Mom. Iâm really excited for the next couple of episodes of One Piece. I hope you all are just as excited as me.

One Piece is an anime series from the manga of the same title written by Eiichiro Oda. Produced by Toei Animation, and directed by Konosuke Uda, Munehisa Sakai and Hiroaki Miyamoto, it began broadcasting on Fuji Television on October 20, 1999. One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a 17-year-old boy, whose body has gained the properties of rubber from accidentally eating a supernatural fruit, and his crew of diverse pirates, named the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy's greatest ambition is to obtain the world's ultimate treasure, One Piece, and thereby become the next King of the Pirates.[1] The series uses 39 different pieces of theme music: 21 opening themes and 18 closing themes. Several CDs that contain the theme music and other tracks have been released by Toei Animation. The first DVD compilation was released on February 21, 2001,[2] with individual volumes releasing monthly. The Singaporean company Odex released part of the series locally in English and Japanese in the form of dual audio Video CDs.[3]
In 2004, 4Kids Entertainment licensed the series for an English-language broadcast in North America. This dub was heavily edited for content, as well as length, reducing the first 143 episodes to 104, and thus receiving large amounts of controversy and fan backlash.[4]One Piece made its U.S. premiere on September 18, 2004, on the Fox network's Fox Box programming block, and also began airing on the Cartoon Network's Toonami block in April 2005. In December 2006, 4Kids cancelled production due to financial reasons.[5]
In April 2007, Funimation acquired the license of One Piece from 4Kids and would use their in-house voice cast in preparation for the series' DVD releases.[6] The Funimation dubbed episodes aired on Cartoon Network's Toonami block from September 2007 until the block's cancellation in March 2008.[7] In Australia, Cartoon Network resumed airing new One Piece episodes in November 2008, starting with episode 170,[8] lasting until January 2009 following episode 195.[8] The first unedited, bilingual DVD box set, containing 13 episodes, was released on May 27, 2008.[9] Similarly sized sets followed with 31 sets released as of July 2015.[10][11] Episodes began streaming on August 29, 2009.[12] Funimation's uncut dub later resumed airing on Adult Swim's revived Toonami block from episode 207 onwards from May 18, 2013 to March 18, 2017.[13]
